Week Three: (Love , Strange encounters and sickness)

This week has progressed rather well. I have gained a promotion at work. I am now a High School teacher. And I managed to fix the computer, the shower (again) and then the microwave. GAH !!! What will they break next !?!

For the most part everyone is getting along really well. No fights at all. Which is very ....odd.
AND..... there has been some new developments .
I guess it was bound to happen being couped up here with each other day after day.

I have been so busy studying for my new promotion that I completely missed this.
Jaws has taken a real liking to Kim. I think they are are sweet for each other.
She has been a good influence on him too. And he has been good for her too.
I haven't seen her beg for money all week.

She has gotten him into going outside and he is starting to socialize more with the rest of the residents. And has become best friends with CJ and Sonia .

CJ and Sonia are an item. They seem to spend alot of time together. CJ never seems to leave her side. It's rather endearing how he tends to her needs.

I still haven't found out anything about his past......however....

The other day I invited a friend over and CJ didn't like his advances he made toward Sonia at all. And it broke out into a brawl. Poor guy, CJ won that one. I wonder if they knew each other. Ephraim does work in Intelligence . Hmm......

DD and Joset are still dating . I think they are getting serious. She comes home with me from work almost every night. I think she just comes over to see him.

That's okay. I think DD is doing really well here. She has been a good influence on his recovery. I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to move out soon. I think he is almost ready to go back into society . No breakdowns so far. He had mentioned earlier that he wanted to get a job . And to start a family soon.

I have decided to remove the basketball court that was in the back yard. No one uses it anyways and it just takes up space.
I added a really nice garden area to plant some vegetables. Nancy and Simpy seem to really enjoy taking care of the garden together too. And have become good friends.

I wonder who they are talking about and what's up a rat ??

Nancy has found herself a new love interest. A man named Joe Hardy. He has a home business across town. And just opened a beauty salon.
It's kinda of a cool place too hang out. With a poker table and a pool table .

YIKES !!! I don't think Nancy looks very happy....

I think he had better stick with the poker table.......and give up his side job being a beauty expert. Look at the make over he had done on poor Nancy.......I hope he didn't charge her for that. And gives her a free make over next time.

Interesting ...... I have spotted CJ at Joe's place , gambling.
It's funny how I ran into him one day there. I wanted to check out Joe's place to see if it was suitable for my residents and there he was. CJ in Joe's pool hall !!

I never knew that he left the house unsupervised. I hope he doesn't make this a habit. We can't afford that. We barely have enough money to keep up with the groceries.

CJ is certainly the party guy in the house too. Loves to dance and to play the violin. He is getting really good with it too. Just the other day he had gotten a tip in the tip jar. Hmmm.....I wonder where they are getting the cash for this. Awww don't cry CJ better days are coming soon.

Ephraim didn't take it well losing the fight. He stops by every night. Mostly to kick over the trash can .Which caused an infestation of vermin.

Some of the residents have gotten the flu. Hopefully with lots of rest, relaxation and some of my soup they will be well soon. It didn't help that Sonia ate that rotten sandwhich. She had the stomach flu for a few days.

Till next time:
We will see if Nancy gets Joe to fix his make over and see what Simpy and the rest are up to.
Even our pet bird is plotting his escape.

Week Two (small fires and budding relationships)

I knew it had to happen at some point. Yes, you guessed it a FIRE !! This of course set off an emotional downfall for some of the residents. At one point it got so out of hand that I immediately called for a doctor .

Both Kim and Simpy took it the worst. Nancy seem a little unsettled about it too. Of all the residents, I would have to say these two have the worst phobias in the house. Simpy blames herself for everything . For instance, both the sink and shower broke yesterday. Simpy blamed herself. Kim was a big help with the clean up while I repaired the leaky pipe.

I noticed the other day the computer is also in need of repair. What next...... Hopefully it is something simple and I will be able to repair it myself. We cannot afford to have a repairman to come over right now. Well....looks like it will have to wait.

Kim seems to think we can start our own fund raiser here at home . There she is again...... I seen her out on the sidewalk looking for donations. Either that or she is carrying around that bear........

There's CJ watching the residents again. He seems very fixated on one resident in particular, Sonia. She doesn't seem to even notice him there.

This seems to be normal behavior for Sonia. She completely is oblivious to him staring at her.
I have notice that she seems to be that way about everything . I can't be sure but she seems happy.
I have also notice a little suggestive flirting and hugs going on between Jaws and Sonia. They make a cute couple. Up until just recently Jaws has been very quiet. I have noticed that Jaws and CJ have become really chummy.
Nancy and Kim have become very good friends. I notice them joking and laughing in the recreation room.
I have invited my friend Joset over to meet the residents. Looks like DD has taken a liking to her already.Wait....What is going on over there !! Someone let the bird out.

I am happy that everyone seems to be getting along with each other. I thought for sure there would have been a few arguments, mostly because of the limited amount of beds available. So, far no disagreements over our living arrangements.

Just yesterday my friend Vice invited me over to his place. His house is very small but suitable for a bachelor. One thing about Vice , he loves his hobbies especially his ant farm.

I was completely shocked when I arrived. There standing in his living room was my ex husband Amin . I couldn't believe it !! Of all people, he could be friends with and it had to be him.

Let's say we didn't exactly part on good terms. He is the jealous type . Even now he doesn't accept that Vice and I are only friends. And of course he had to bring up the divorce.
I was relieved that Vice politely asked him to leave.

Things between Vice and I are going very well and we have become really good friends. He has invited me out to dinner this weekend and wants to show me around town. And to also meet some of his friends. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Until then I am keeping my eye on CJ...

Tune in next time

Week One ( first impressions)

All of my new residents look tired and in need of some rest and relaxation. A few of them traveled in from out of town. On their first night here , I had noticed a few of them sleeping on the couch and the recliner. Looks like they don't want to share the double bed as of yet. So, I decided to trade in the double bed for two single beds . I want them to feel comfortable here in their new home. After all it is the Healey House.

My first patients name is Jaws. He seems like a very friendly guy. Between you and me, that is a very odd name. But, that's what he wants us to call him than who am I to judge.
He mostly keeps to himself alot. And is content laying in bed, daydreaming his worries away .I guess he is a recluse of sorts. I will have to try to encourage him participate in some of our planned group sessions. I plan on doing a day trip now and then. Maybe to the park or the Roller Rink.

CJ is our resident comedian. And he just loves to play the violin and to tell jokes in the recreation room. Sometimes he plays the violin all night. You would think he would tire after awhile. He seems to get along really well with all the residents . Nothing ever seems to bother him.

Hmm.. It makes me wonder why he needs to be here in the first place. He is a mystery to me.
I think must have been a private investigator. Or something like that.
I see him watching all the residents. I will to investigate his background.

Kim seems a bit reclusive or maybe she is just shy. Her passion is the computer and a bear she brought with her . She loves to play video games all night and to chat . And she loves nature, collecting butterflies and bird watching. She has become very fond of our pets. So, I have given her the responsibilities of it's needs. I am hoping this will bring her out of her shell.

DD is our fitness guru. He is always beefing up his muscles on the fitness bar. He sometimes exercises all day, that can't be healthy. And he also loves to cook in the kitchen. And he helps out around the house with all of the cleaning chores when needed. I am very hesitant on them doing any cooking. Or anything with fire right now.
I think DD needed a rest from his previous job as a scientist. Other than his obsessive need to exercise he seems good. I foresee him not needing to stay here for very long.

Nancy is the residents favorite person to talk to. She gets along very well with everyone and helps out around the house. I am not sure what her background is yet. I get the impression it has to do with her boyfriend, Joe. She tends to cry a lot and is very sad . I will have to get to know her better before I invite him over.
She has become very fond of our new womrat and bird.
Forgive me, I have forgotten what they named them...

Oh yes Dilbert and Pickles.....

Simpy is very outgoing. Her favorite thing to do, is to dance to the stereo and to practice the violin (when CJ isn't playing it). All in all she seems the saddest of all of them. She spends most of her time staying up all night dancing to the stereo and reading.
From what I found out she's in show business and hasn't been able to find any new roles.
Rumor has it that she is bit of a Diva . She insists on being all glam with her green beads she wears all the time. I suspect it was because of all that attitude and her demands is why she hasn't had a part in a very long time.

Sonia is one of our shy ones. Her passion is to do the cooking. Hmmm....not so sure if I trust them to cook just yet. I will have to keep my eye on this one. She looks like she is ready explode any minute. All of those pent up emotions bursting to come out. No background on her at all.

I will try to prepare some meals for them before I leave for work . Hopefully we won't have any kitchen fires while I am away. Maybe some of Grandma's soup will soothe their first day here.

First thing I must do is find a job. Someone needs to pay the bills around here.
I looked through the help wanted ads and found a job at a school as a school monitor. It doesn't pay much but at least it will buy the groceries. I have a feeling we will be going through a lot of food.

My first day at work went rather well. I met a really nice man named Vice. He lives in the neighborhood just a few streets over from our house. He is a bachelor and lives alone. Maybe I will invite him over for dinner to meet my residents. He seems lonely too.

And I also met another co worker named Joset, she also lives alone. Her and Vice are very good friends and live on the same street.

Maybe I will start a vegetable garden in the backyard and take away the basketball court. We already have some nice fruit trees to make fresh juice.
No one seems to use the basketball court much anyways. Trying to get them outside is a chore. Kim is the only one who ventures outside for some fresh air. Maybe if I make it more inviting they will spend more time outside.

Tune in next time for Week Two.....Residents getting acquainted.
